Opinion: Chelsea star's return gives Liam Rosenior a headache for Burnley encounter

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo will be hoping to make his first start since returning from a hamstring injury this weekend.

Adarabioyo made his comeback against Hull City in the FA Cup last Friday, coming off the bench in the 77th minute.

Chelsea will now return to Premier League action on Saturday when they face Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

What position do you want to see Palmer in against Burnley?

The last time these two sides met, Adarabioyo put in a terrific performance and the numbers back that up.

Tosin Adarabioyo put in defensive masterclass against Burnley in November

At Turf Moor earlier this season, Chelsea beat Burnley 2-0, with Adarabioyo playing a major role in the visitors being able to keep a clean sheet.

On the afternoon, the defender made 11 defensive actions. Andrey Santos was the only Chelsea player to make more, according to Sofascore.

Adarabioyo also won all six of his ground duels and four out of six aerial duels. The centre-back has had some difficult games this term, so that was definitely one of his better displays, if not his best one.

Don’t count Tosin out just yet! 😤

Santos also shone at Turf Moor after making all of those defensive contributions, which totalled 13.

The Brazilian is likely to start when Scott Parker’s side travel to west London, as he has been an important player for Liam Rosenior. As for Adarabioyo, that is more up in the air.

Tosin Adarabioyo could have big part to play towards end of Burnley clash if he doesn’t start

Since replacing Enzo Maresca as Chelsea manager, Rosenior has been very fair with this Chelsea squad. Everyone has got a chance.

With that in mind, he may be contemplating starting Adarabioyo at the weekend. And based on the type of team Burnley are and Adarabioyo’s last performance against them, he should be.

If the former Manchester City man does not get the nod, though, he could still have a part to play later in the game.

His height may be needed if Chelsea are defending a slender lead and balls into the box in the final 10 minutes of the match or so.
