Years after watching him develop as a young assistant in the Championship, Scott Parker isn’t surprised to see Liam Rosenior thriving under the bright lights at Chelsea.
Scott Parker’s time at Chelsea was a brief chapter in his career. Arriving from Charlton Athletic for a £10 million fee, he was brought in to provide competition for Claude Makelele and Frank Lampard.
Despite the limited opportunities, Parker made an immediate impact, being named the PFA Young Player of the Year. However, his second season was hampered by the arrival of Tiago, as well as a broken metatarsal suffered against Norwich City.
While he earned a winner’s medal for the League Cup, he narrowly missed out on a Premier League medal due to making only four league appearances that year.
Liam Rosenior will be hoping to enjoy slightly more success during his time at Chelsea, and that starts with the upcoming clash against Burnley.

Scott Parker praises Liam Rosenior’s progress as a manager
Scott Parker took time out to praise Liam Rosenior ahead of the meeting between Burnley and Chelsea this weekend (as per Hayters).
“But yeah, a fantastic football club and obviously going up against Liam, who’s done fantastically well in a short space of time there as well.
“And seeing him develop as a young coach, I came across him when he was an assistant with Wayne at Derby. So, he’s been in his company and done remarkably well at Strasbourg, going abroad, and with what that feels like, certainly.
“So, yeah, he’s done well and we’re looking forward to the game for sure.”
We certainly believe Liam Rosenior is the best man to bring back the glory days.

Scott Parker recalls his time at Chelsea
Despite very little luck at Chelsea, Scott Parker kept it classy about his former club.
“Well, yeah, it is,” Parker answered on it being a special game for him. “Obviously, I had some time there at Chelsea and obviously a good experience for different reasons, really.”
A win for Chelsea would do wonders against Parker. The top four race is hotting up, with Manchester United and Liverpool the main competitors.
But it won’t be easy as Burnley came away with all three points against Crystal Palace last time out.
