Nicolas Jackson remains a player in demand, even if his loan spell in Germany with Bayern Munich has not gone as planned.

The Senegalese striker will be heading back to Chelsea at the end of the season, having failed to make the requisite number of first-team appearances with the Bundesliga club that would have triggered an automatic option to buy.

Indeed the terms of his loan had always made that an unlikely possibility anyway.

Now he and Chelsea face a choice. The Premier League club could choose to keep him, eying specially since Enzo Maresca, who never believed he was capable of playing under him, is no lnger manager.

However, if they decide to sell him, he will not lack for suitor, with reported interest from Spain, Italy and other Premier League clubs.

With his buy option with Bayern a reputed £56.2m that is a useful indication of the sort of money they could demand for him.
