Al Horford described Thursday night as "definitely a weird feeling" after facing his former team in the Golden State Warriors 121–110 loss to the Boston Celtics at Chase Center.
"It's definitely a weird feeling, going through that," Horford said in a post–game press conference. "It was nice to see a lot of the guys, like I talked before, and getting to see the coaches and the staff. Once the game got going, it was all business and trying to do our best there."
The veteran big man highlighted how strange it was to match up with former teammates and adjust to their style of play.
"It was a little different seeing guys I played with, but once we got on the court, it was competitive basketball," Horford explained.
Golden State dropped to 29–27 and sits at 6–11 this season without Stephen Curry, who remains sidelined with a knee injury. Horford noted how much the lineup relies on Curry.
"It's a big difference. We can't lie to ourselves," he said. "He just does so much… Whether it's assists, whether it's layups, a lot of things open up for the rest of us. It's night and day completely how we are with and without him."
