Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has flat-out denied reports linking him with a move away from St James’ Park this summer.
Questionable sources claimed that Liverpool were leading Arsenal and Manchester City in the race to sign the England international for £95m, but when asked about the story, Gordon replied:

“It’s the same old, same old. I think they just pick names out of a hat. They do. I haven’t heard anything; they might want to tell me before they tell you (the media). Of course. I have gone through enough transfer stuff now to know that it is all a load of rubbish.”
“I am focused on me and focused on the team, I am focused on right now. You look too far in the future, and you start to underperform. And believe me, I have done that (before) and I am not going to do that now.”
Newcastle will be keen to keep a player in good form
Gordon has a phenomenal goal record in Europe this season. After scoring 4 against Qarabag, he has taken his total in the Champions League to 10 in only 9 appearances.
It’s in stark contrast to performances domestically, which haven’t been to the same standard. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net just 3 times in 20 Premier League games.
Even so, Gordon’s impressive form in Europe will surely increase the club’s determination to retain his services.
Gordon has a long-term contract
The forward only put pen to paper on a new deal with Newcastle just under 16 months ago, so the club are under no pressure to sell him anytime soon. If you want a framed Newcastle kit signed by Gordon, visit Sport Direct.
Gordon himself has clearly given no thought to leaving either, and his latest comments will likely put any speculation to bed for now.
