Barcelona have announced ambitious transfer plans ahead of the summer, which could see them rival AC Milan for a striker.
As Calciomercato.com recall, Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta talked quite boldly about their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window: “If it’s necessary to make a big signing this summer, we’re ready to do it.”
The president of the Catalan club has run again in the elections scheduled for 15 March, and as often happens around this time – regardless of Barca’s still-delicate financial position – big proclamations are made.
Battle for Vlahovic brewing
With the contracts of Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen and Polish centre-forward Robert Lewandowski expiring at the end of this season (both set to leave), Barcelona want reinforcements in defence and attack.
As for the defence, Barcelona are following Inter star Alessandro Bastoni. Up front, Barça are targeting either England’s Harry Kane from Bayern Munich or Argentine Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.

Dusan Vlahovic is also among the alternative names as per the report. The Serbian is out of contract with Juventus in June, with a salary of €12m net per year which is nearly double in gross.
He arrived in January 2022 from Fiorentina in a package worth a total of €83.5m. Vlahovic has so far scored 64 goals in 162 appearances for Juventus, with 16 assists, 16 yellow cards and one red card.
He’s currently sidelined with an adductor injury, with a return expected in early March. Milan are also interested in signing him, Calciomercato confirm, but it remains to be seen if they can match Barca’s offer.
