Manchester City could move to within two points of Arsenal on Saturday night but Pep Guardiola says he 'could not care less' about the title race with so many games remaining

Pep Guardiola is not getting carried away despite Arsenal's recent stuttering form and insists he 'could not care less' about where Manchester City stand in the title race.
Arsenal started the week four points clear of Guardiola's men but blew the chance to extend that gap by failing to beat the Premier League's bottom club, Wolves. That means City could move to within two points of the Gunners if they win their game against Newcastle on Saturday evening.
But Guardiola insists he is paying no attention to the Premier League table at this stage, pointing out there are still 12 games to go.
“Twelve [more] games is a lot, like I said before. So Newcastle is my only concern,” Guardiola said on Friday.
“We will be concerned about the League cup final against Arsenal when it is coming up, but for now it is Newcastle, a rest and after it Leeds. It has always been like that.
“As a journalist, I understand you want to anticipate what is going to happen. That doesn't count. It is Newcastle, that is all.”
When the City boss was then asked if he had discussed Arsenal dropping points at Wolves on Wednesday night, he snapped back: “I didn't talk about that for one second. Just Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle.

“I didn't talk about the table, or our position or something like that. I could not care less. It's 12 games [still to play].
“If you ask me this question with two or three games left, I will have your answer. It's 12 games left, it's an eternity.”
Arsenal dropping points in successive games against Brentford and Wolves, coupled with Manchester City's form for kicking into gear late in the season, has led some to claim the former champions have the advantage in the title race.

But Guardiola was quick to dismiss any talk of an advantage, pointing out some of City's stars are new and do not have experience of winning the title.
“Seventy per cent of the players are new, so they don't have the experience to live these kinds of situations.
“An experience is to win tomorrow. It is only one.”
