Chelsea’s recent heartbreak against Leeds United in the Premier League was a real blow to Liam Rosenior’s side, and now the same has occurred for their Under 21s.
There was a lot of attention on their meeting with Leeds’ youth side due to the fact that Romeo Lavia was making his first appearance in nearly three months.
The Belgian featured for 45 minutes before being replaced, with the young Blues 1-0 up at the break.

Liam Rosenior watches Chelsea U21s squander 2-0 lead against Leeds
They doubled their lead thanks to another Shumaira Mheuka goal, bringing up 20 for the season for him already.
However, just like the first team found out after Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer had found the net, the game was not over when they take a 2-0 lead against this opposition.

With Rosenior in attendance, two goals in the final half an hour, the second via a poor defensive error cost the Blues two points late on.
While the U21s did return to the top of the PL2 table, they did not open up the gap they would have liked, and may lose that advantage before their next game against Manchester United.
There were plenty of positives to take in regards to Lavia’s outing and Mheuka’s goal, but dropping points from winning positions seems to be a theme throughout the club at this moment.
Rosenior needs Premier League bounce back
Chelsea responded to the poor result against Leeds with a 4-0 victory against Hull in the FA Cup, and will have had eight days preperation when they take to the pitch to face Burnley.
The race for the top four is hotting up as far as the Blues are concerned, and they need to be of the belief that any dropped points are going to be punished by the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.
Burnley have proven to be somewhat of a bogey team at Stamford Bridge in recent years for Chelsea, although they enjoyed their outing at Turf Moor earlier this season.
They were 2-0 victors on that day, with Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez scoring the goals.
