Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch has built a reputation for speaking his mind both on and off the field. The man who powered the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl title knows what it takes to win at the highest level. Recently, Lynch turned his focus to one of the greatest coaches the game has ever seen Bill Belichick.
Lynch appeared on hisGet Got Podcast and blasted Hall of Fame voters for not putting Belichick in the 2026 class during his first year of eligibility. Belichick fell short of the 40 out of 50 votes needed for induction. He has six Super Bowl wins as head coach which is the most in NFL history.

Lynch did not hold back. He said, “F— them n–gas. That n–ga ain’t a first ballot nga. Who da f**k won more Super Bowls.” He added “F— them and f— whatever they gotta do… [Belichick] won six Super Bowls and still isn’t first-ballot.” Lynch also said if there were issues with cheating then deal with that separately but do not use it to block the Hall of Fame spot.
Holy Sh*t: Marshawn Lynch goes OFF on the Hall of Fame voters for not voting Bill Belichick into the Hall of Fame because he cheated.

The comments came afterreports that some voters cited Spygate and Belichick’s record without Tom Brady as reasons for the snub. Lynch faced Belichick in Super Bowl XLIX when his Seahawks lost to the Patriots 28-24 on the famous Malcolm Butler interception.
The rant quickly spread among players and fans. It highlighted the respect many have for Belichick despite past rivalries. Lynch made it clear that six Super Bowls should make any coach a first-ballot choice.
Belichick finished his Patriots career with a record of 333 wins and 178 losses plus nine conference titles. He is widely seen as one of the best coaches ever. The Hall of Fame snub has sparked debate across the league about how voters decide on legendary figures.
Lynch has not commented further but his words showed strong support for the coach who once beat him in the biggest game. The story has drawn attention to how the Hall of Fame process handles big names and their legacies.
Bill Belichick gains respect from Marshawn Lynch and others
Marshawn Lynch has shown, through his podcast rant that even fierce rivals can respect Bill Belichick’s six Super Bowl wins. Many NFL players see winning as the ultimate measure and Lynch made that point clear.
The debate around Belichick keeps the conversation going about what makes a coach great in the league. His impact on the game remains huge, no matter the voting outcome.
Like Lynch, many strongly opposed the decision not to induct Belichick in his first year of eligibility in January 2026.
Tom Brady stated that if Belichick isn’t a first-ballot Hall of Famer, “there’s really no coach that should ever be”.
The Hall of Fame issued a statement in late January 2026 warning selectors against “agenda-driven” voting after reports leaked that some voters prioritized veteran players over Belichick to make a point about past scandals.
Analysts argue that while the snub is “egregious,” his influence remains visible in modern coaching through his defensive schemes and the widespread adoption of his analytical approach to the game.
