From Germany: Liverpool make contact for £56m sensation, club accepts that he will leave

Liverpool are quite active in the transfer department with many reports emerging about their plans for the summer.

It would make sense, after the season they’ve had, that Liverpool are anxious to ensure next season is more exciting.

The 2025-26 campaign has been marked by frustration. Arne Slot has failed to get the best out of his team and is now at major risk of losing his job this summer if he cannot motivate them to some level of success.

Liverpool make contact with Eintracht Frankfurt for Nathaniel Brown, they accept he will leave

According to German newspaper BILD, Liverpool and several other top clubs have made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt for left-back sensation Nathaniel Brown.

The German club accepts, as they did with Hugo Ekitike, that they will not be able to hold onto the 22-year-old even though he signed a contract last summer that only expires in 2030. Frankfurt will demand a fee in the region of €65m (around £56m), which means, if Liverpool do sign him, he will cost more than Milos Kerkez.

It does seem unlikely that Liverpool would spend £16m more on a backup for Kerkez than they actually paid for the Hungarian, but perhaps sporting director Richard Hughes believes he can get him for a lower fee.

Or that Kerkez and Brown will compete for a starting role as is the case between Kerkez and Andy Robertson.

Speaking of Robertson, he will likely leave this summer

Liverpool rejected the advances of Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window when the La Liga outfit came knocking for Robertson. It seemed, for a brief 48-hour period, as though the Reds were willing to let the vice-captain go.

However, this summer will likely see the former Hull City fullback leave the club after almost ten years of service.

Hopefully Robbo remains in the Premier League so fans won’t have to venture too far to keep track of his career although it’s doubtful that fans would begrudge him if he want to go on something of a European adventure as Trent Alexander-Arnold has done with Real Madrid.
