Height: 203 cm
Weight: 95 kg
Birth place: St. Louis, United States of America
Charania revealed that Tatum has been participating in 5-on-5 drills for several weeks, but the superstar forward will ultimately make the final call on his return.
“Jayson Tatum has been doing 5 on 5 for a period of weeks now. These are the steps you take as you ramp up. At the end of the day only he can be the one that gives the final clearance," Charania said on the Throwbacks show.
"About a dozen people involved here at the end. Doctors, his side, Celtics officials, are eventually gonna gather in a room and be like ‘ok, we’re good. Let’s move forward," he added.
Before the injury, Tatum was coming off a strong 2024-25 season, averaging 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three-point range. He remained the centerpiece of Boston's offense and one of the league's top two-way wings.
Despite missing their franchise player, the Celtics have remained competitive. Boston holds a 36-19 record and sits second in the Eastern Conference, maintaining a strong position ahead of the playoff push.
