Victor Oladipo is getting a change of scenery. The former NBA All-Star has been included in a G League trade, landing with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as they continue surging.

On Friday morning, the Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks) made a deal with the Cleveland Charge, which sent the returning player rights to Jacob Gilyard and Drake Jeffries, a second-round pick in the 2026 NBA G League Draft and a pick in the 2026 NBA G League International Draft to Wisconsin. The Charge landed just Oladipo in the deal.

Oladipo, 33, has been working on an NBA comeback. Prior to the start of the 2025-2026 NBA season, he last played in the league with the Miami Heat in 2023. He’s set to join his second G League team in under one year.

Thank you, Victor 💚

The Herd has acquired the returning player rights to Jacob Gilyard and Drake Jeffries, a second-round pick in the 2026 NBA G League Draft and a pick in the 2026 NBA G League International Draft from the Cleveland Charge in exchange for Victor Oladipo.

Victor Oladipo Gets A Shot With The Surging Cavs

He hasn’t landed on the main roster, but Oladipo lands in an interesting situation. With the Cavaliers being a contender, they understand they have an experienced veteran right under them.

Since 2013, Oladipo has appeared in over 500 games. He has five playoff runs under his belt (33 games).

The Cavaliers are on pace to make another playoff run in 2026. At 35-21, the Cavaliers are fourth in the Eastern Conference. They trail the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and the Detroit Pistons. After Thursday night’s win, the Cavs have advanced to six wins in a row, which is a league-high.

Cleveland recently swapped out a multi-time All-Star for another. The young guard Darius Garland was sent to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Cavaliers picked up the former MVP, James Harden, to pair with Donovan Mitchell. Considering their recent success, it’s safe to consider the deal a win so far. But the Cavaliers are certainly focused on making waves in the playoffs.

How’s The Comeback Going?

Former All-NBA and All-Star for the Indiana Pacers, Victor Oladipo, hopes to make a return to the NBA after missing the last two years due to multiple long-term leg injuries.

Injuries have affected Oladipo in recent seasons. The last time he played in over 50 games was during the 2017-2018 season when he was with the Indiana Pacers. At the time, Oladipo was an NBA All-Star.

Throughout his career, he’s had runs with the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, and the Pacers. His last NBA run came in 2022-2023, when he appeared in 42 games with the Heat. At the time, Oladipo shot 39 percent from the field, scoring 10.7 points per game and producing 3.5 assists per game.

Back in the fall, Oladipo geared up for a run in China with the Guangzhou Loong Lions. He landed back on the NBA’s radar with multiple standout games during the preseason. Just one month in, he signed with the Herd.

With the Herd, Oladipo started in eight of the 15 games he played. The veteran guard shot 38 percent from the field, taking 12.3 shots per game. He posted averages of 13.5 points, 3.8 assists, and 4.6 rebounds.

The Charge return to the court on Saturday, February 21, 2026. They will take on the Westchester Knicks in White Plains, New York. If all goes right, Oladipo can make his debut then.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are focused on their Friday night game against the Charlotte Hornets. As the Cavs look to extend their streak, they are facing a red-hot Hornets team that has won eight of its last 10 games. Charlotte enters the matchup with a 36-20 record.
