NBA Moves Another Upcoming Celtics Game To Primetime Stage

The NBA keeps giving the Boston Celtics more national coverage amid a standout season.

Boston is demanding attention as a legitimate contender, and the league has noticed. Per a release shared by The Spot Up Shot's Paul Garcia, the NBA moved a March 10 game between the Celtics and San Antonio Spurs to NBC and Peacock.

The Celtics and Spurs will replace an originally scheduled matchup between the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks. The game tips off at 8 p.m. ET.

Boston returned from the All-Star break with a victory over the Golden State Warriors streaming on Prime Video. Ten of the Celtics' next 16 games will be broadcast nationally.

NBC has now picked up two Celtics games in March after the NBA also flexed a March 1 game against the Philadelphia 76ers to "Sunday Night Basketball."

That move sparked considerable speculation about a Jayson Tatum return. NBC is airing a five-part documentary series about the star's recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon, leading fans to wonder if the scheduling change could coincide with comeback plans.

Tatum, however, has yet to decide if he'll play again this season. It appears NBC is simply recognizing the red-hot Celtics as a marquee draw, with or without the injured All-Star.

While the Hawks and Mavericks keep falling down the standings with losing records, the Celtics and Spurs could represent a potential NBA Finals preview. Each team is second in its conference, and San Antonio has won seven straight behind young phenom Victor Wembanyama.

NBC will also air Boston's next game against the Los Angeles Lakers this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
