Travis Kelce reportedly looking to leave Chiefs

Legendary tight end Travis Kelce has played his entire career with the Kansas City Chiefs, but according to one report, it sounds like he is looking to finish his career elsewhere.

While Kelce is still pondering whether or not to retire from the NFL, his contract with the Chiefs expired following the 2025-26 season, meaning that he is now set to become a free agent if he does decide to return to the league.

While it has long been expected that Kelce [would return to the Chiefs](https://thecomeback.com/nfl/travis-kelce-retirement-decision-all-but-confirmed.html) next season if he does choose to return to the league, it sounds like that might not actually be the case.

According to a report from FS1 analyst and radio host Craig Carton, Kelce is not planning to retire, but isn’t planning to come back to the Chiefs, either.

Carton specifically named the New York Giants as a team that Kelce could look to play for next season.

“The rumor is that Travis Kelce is not going to retire. He wants to come back for another year, but he does not want to go back to Kansas City. I saw a story today that Travis Kelce wants to play for the New York Giants!” Carton said on his program via [Total Pro Sports.](https://www.totalprosports.com/nfl/travis-kelce-trade-rumors-heating-up-linked-nfc-east-team/)

“That way he and his wife can live in New York City, she can go to every game, and Travis Kelce can be in the biggest media market in America. I know it’s just a rumor, but do not sleep on the Giants signing Kelce this offseason,” Carton continued.

Obviously, there has been no confirmation of this report from anyone else, but it does seem to make sense given Swift’s residence in New York City and the fact that the two of them are regularly seen there.

We’ll have to see what happens when the NFL’s free agency period officially opens up next month, but it sounds like there’s a chance Kelce could leave the Chiefs after a long career with the team.
