There are few Dallas Cowboys fans more vocal than controversial sports analyst Skip Bayless. He is always talking about “his team” and has had to deal with quite a bit of frustration in recent years.
As Jerry Jones and the Cowboys look to get back into Super Bowl contention this offseason, there are a lot of questions facing the team. They missed the playoffs in 2025 and there are many different areas that need to be addressed to fix the issues.
First and foremost, the team will need to figure out what to do with George Pickens. He is widely expected to be back in Dallas next season, whether that be via a new contract or having the franchise tag placed on him. After that, the Cowboys will need to fix plenty of different roster issues.

Recently, Jones spoke out and sent a message to Dallas fans. He still has hope that the team can be a contender in the near future.
"So the point is, in this day in the NFL, you can go from a pumpkin to a carrot, so to speak. And you can do it in a year, or you can do it in two years,” Jones said.
"That is very promising to me. I've been there. I understand how it's done. I understand how it's not done."
Bayless clearly wasn’t a fan of Jones talking about hope for the future. He wants to see results and the results have not been good as of late.
In response to Jones’ message, Bayless went on a fiery rant.
"You are playing on delusional luck,” Bayless said. “Maybe it will happen, maybe we'll get lucky next year. It doesn't feel right to me. I don't see hope. I'm tired of being a delusional chip off Jerry's block."
Last season, Dallas finished with a 7-9-1 record and missed the playoffs. While the Seattle Seahawks were able to win a Super Bowl after a quick turnaround, the Cowboys are facing a bigger uphill battle.
Dallas will need to improve its defense, both from a pass rushing and secondary perspective. Jones will also need to figure out what to do at running back.
Expect to hear a lot of talk about the Cowboys entering the NFL offseason. Jones and company have a lot of work to do. Bayless clearly doesn’t believe in the vision of hope that the team owner recently shared.
