A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for Feb. 20.

SCHEELHAASE PROMOTED

The Steelers hired Mike McCarthy as their head coach last month, but many fans wanted them to go in a different direction. One name connected to the Steelers was Nathan Scheelhaase. While he’s still young in his coaching career, only being the Rams’ pass game coordinator in 2025, he generated a lot of buzz during this hiring cycle.

Unfortunately for Scheelhaase, he didn’t get a head coaching job. However, still got a promotion, with ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reporting that the Rams are naming Scheelhaase their next offensive coordinator. He replaces Mike LaFleur, who was hired as the Arizona Cardinals head coach. Perhaps this will help Scheelhaase make the leap to NFL head coach at some point down the line.

Sources: the Los Angeles Rams are promoting pass-game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase to offensive coordinator, and making QB coach Dave Ragone the co-offensive coordinator/QB coach.

OHIO STATE HC ON ARTHUR SMITH

Arthur Smith was the Steelers offensive coordinator in 2024 and 2025. While he didn’t do a terrible job and he didn’t always have the best pieces to work with, he left a lot to be desired. Smith, like most of the Steelers’ other coaches, was not retained after Mike Tomlin stepped down. Smith interviewed with NFL teams, but ultimately landed at Ohio State, becoming the offensive coordinator.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day had some nice things to say about Smith, too. In an interview on WBNS 10TV’s YouTube channel, Day gave some quick thoughts on Smith, saying that he appreciates the former NFL head coach’s mentality. This is Smith’s first time coaching at the college level since 2010, and a lot has changed in that time. Things didn’t work out in Pittsburgh, but hopefully, he has success at Ohio State.

AARON DONALD DRAFT PARTY

The draft is one of the NFL’s biggest events of the year. It’s continued to grow each year, and now, it’s coming to Pittsburgh. While it’s still a few months away, it’s coming up fast and promises to be an exciting time for the city.

There should be a lot of fun events in Pittsburgh during that time. Former NFL defensive lineman Aaron Donald, a Pittsburgh-native, is set to host his own draft party, as Donald Legacy Training shared on Twitter. Tickets are on sale for those who want to attend the event.
