Chelsea pair Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez want new, improved contracts, according to reports.
The Athletic claim that the two midfielders, who cost a combined £223m to sign, have recently changed agents, and they want to hold talks about their futures.
Caicedo and Fernandez are both currently on the same deals they signed when they joined the club in 2023.
They have since established themselves as key players, and despite still having between five and a half and six and a half years remaining on their current contracts, it appears they want better salaries.

A source at the club has told The Athletic that it is “natural” for these things to happen and it is “validation” of their strategy, but in reality, this is far from ideal for the Blues.
The entire point of putting them on long contracts was to avoid these sorts of renewal talks, where player wages would increase substantially. It goes counter to their approach of amortising salaries over several years to aid transfer spending.
How much are Caicedo and Fernandez earning?
Capology claims that Caicedo already takes home around £150,000 a week. You would assume that he would be demanding around £250,000 to £300,000 a week in negotiations. That is the going rate for a Premier League player of his age and quality.

It should be pointed out that Cole Palmer is on £130,000 a week, so if the club do cave in to Caicedo and Fernandez, they will likely be getting a call from Palmer’s representatives and several others to boot.
