Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent months, but the Juventus forward has reportedly made his stance clear regarding a potential move to England this summer. Despite interest from several sides, including Chelsea, a new report claims the striker would prefer a switch to Barcelona.
According to UK outlet TeamTalk, the 26-year-old has little appetite for a move to Stamford Bridge, even as Chelsea continue to assess long-term options at centre-forward. CHELSEA have been tracking potential upgrades in attack ahead of the summer window, with Vlahović repeatedly mentioned as one of the most attainable high-profile strikers on the market should Juventus decide to cash in.
However, the report states that Vlahović’s preference is a move to Spain, where Barcelona are expected to reshape their squad amid financial constraints and the need to reduce wages before making significant signings.
The Catalan side have been linked to younger, more cost-effective forwards, though acquiring Vlahović would still require a substantial financial commitment.
Juventus, meanwhile, are reportedly ready to let the big striker leave. The Turin club are working to balance sporting ambitions with an ongoing rebuild for next season, and getting Vlahovic’s massive £300k-a-week wages off the books will go a long way.
CHELSEA’s striker search is expected to continue, with the club evaluating both established names and emerging prospects. Their need for a reliable goalscorer has been evident across the season, and Vlahović’s profile—powerful, athletic, and proven in Serie A—had made him a strong candidate.
CAN CHELSEA STILL SIGN VLAHOVIC?
Vlahović’s preference for Barcelona over Chelsea is understandable. Barcelona’s tactical system, built on structured possession and creative wide play, could complement his strengths as a penalty-box finisher who thrives on service.
Meanwhile, CHELSEA remain a team in transition, frequently changing systems and struggling to establish consistency in attack.
That said, a move to Barcelona is far from guaranteed. Financial limitations have forced the club into careful squad management, and major signings require difficult sacrifices elsewhere.
If Barcelona are unable to position themselves competitively in the market, Chelsea—or another Premier League club—could yet emerge as the more realistic option. Still, for now, the Serbian striker appears to have a clear preference, even if the path to Catalonia is complicated.
