Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich rising star Lennart Karl this summer, according to reports.
The Anfield side have reportedly made their interest known in the 17-year-old forward, who has taken the Bundesliga by storm in his debut professional season, registering seven goal contributions in his first 20 appearances.
Karl, who turns 18 on Sunday, is regarded as one of the best young players in the world and has no shortage of suitors across the continent, with fellow Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City also keeping close tabs on his development.
All three English clubs have reportedly made recent checks on the ‘special’ forward, who has previously declared that his dream is to play for Real Madrid one day.

According to journalist Graeme Bailey, Bayern are aware of Karl’s growing list of suitors amid his breakout season and are moving towards extending his contract.
The German giants are believed to have an agreement in place to extend the 17-year-old’s deal on his birthday, while talks are also ongoing regarding a further extension, potentially on a four-year contract.
Karl is not looking to depart Bayern at this stage and is keen to continue his steady development under manager Vincent Kompany, who handed the forward his professional debut last year.
The teenager has amassed 31 first-team appearances for Bayern to date, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
Reds Could Replace Mohamed Salah

After spending over £450m on new signings last summer, Liverpool appear to be heading for another busy offseason amid a difficult second year under Arne Slot.
While the Reds have already agreed a move for Rennes rising star Jeremy Jacquet, new arrivals in the wide areas could also be considered, given the uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian’s form has been disappointing this season and, with him set to enter the final year of his contract in July, Liverpool could be more open than ever to a sale after the campaign.
Despite rejecting an Anfield exit on several occasions, Salah still has admirers in the Saudi Pro League, which is viewed as a realistic next destination.
Why Lennart Karl Is Compared to Messi
Argentina's Lionel Messi training.
Amid his impressive breakout year at Bayern, Karl has been said to ‘play in a Lionel Messi style’, and we asked ChatGPT what makes the 17-year-old similar to the iconic Argentine:
Low centre of gravity and close control – Lennart Karl shows strong balance and tight ball control, allowing him to glide past opponents in congested areas.
Left-footed dribbling style – His preference for carrying the ball on his left foot, combined with quick changes of direction, fuels stylistic comparisons.
Creative instinct – Karl looks to create and finish chances through individual initiative, attacking space rather than opting for the safe option.
