Boardroom – the sports, media, and entertainment brand co-founded by Durant and Rich Kleiman – has eliminated its full-time editorial team.
The layoffs were said to be sudden, with affected employees reportedly unable to export their email contacts before losing access.
The news comes shortly after Durant was involved in a viral situation regarding a potential burner account, where he allegedly criticized teammates on Twitter (now X).
It has previously been confirmed that KD operated a burner account. After an incident in 2017 exposed the account, Durant admitted in 2019 that he had used a burner to privately interact with friends online.
Durant co-founded Boardroom in 2019 with business partner and long-time manager Kleiman.
Boardroom focuses on the business side of sports and entertainment, producing video, audio, newsletters, editorial coverage, events, and content that explore how athletes, creators, and executives shape culture and business.
