Sadio Mane continues to work his magic on and off the pitch.

The former Liverpool forward has shown an increasing keenness to do good after he leaves the football pitch as he approaches the twilight years of his career.

He is already an iconic figure for Senegalese football, having won the African Cup of Nations twice with his country as well as numerous accolades at club level, but he wishes for his legacy to extend beyond his footballing ability and into the new generation of up-and-coming footballers.

The confirmation of his new football institute further emphasises that point.

Le Bourges FC, who Sadio Mane owns, have officially launched the Sadio Mane International Institute.

The club sit in the fourth tier of French football with Sadio Mane purchasing the club in 2023.

He has since injected significant investment into the club, aimed at promotion to higher divisions and establishing an academy linked to his foundations in Senegal.

The Sadio Mane International Institute has now been set up with that in mind.

This will be more than just a football academy, with a unique focus on blending sporting excellence with education, employability and social integration.

It will be a one-of-a-kind place with the intention of training athletes aspiring to play football, but also young people chasing other careers.

Bourges is a city rich in history and heritage but with Sadio Mane’s help, it will now look to become a territory of training, in the broadest sense of the term.

Many clubs are increasingly looking to exist beyond just their football and Burges will rely on this new institute to accelerate the development of the club and the attractiveness of it.
