Packers Cleveland invasion: Bill Barnwell’s fix for the Browns O-line

The Cleveland Browns are staring down a historical catastrophe. For the first time since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, a team is set to lose all five starting offensive linemen to free agency in a single winter. With Wyatt Teller’s emotional farewell still stinging, and Joel Bitonio's retirement status uncertain, GM Andrew Berry has to get aggressive through trades, the draft, and a calculated "Packers invasion" to keep this offense from imploding.

To survive this reset, the Browns should look at a Green Bay duo that offers both a floor and a high-ceiling. On The Bill Barnwell Show, the ESPN analyst pointed toward a versatile, cost-effective "body" to help stabilize the room.

"I had Sean Rhyan here from the Packers," Barnwell noted. "It's not like he's a great player, but he can play multiple spots. He can play center, he can play guard. 25, still really young. Is he good? Not sure. He's okay, but he's cheap, young. I think he'd be useful. Think you can find a spot for him, and they need bodies."

Rhyan is the perfect swing guy to plug holes at guard and center. His estimated price tag is also a reasonable $6.5-million annually. However, if the Browns want a foundational pillar, they need to pair him with his Green Bay teammate Rasheed Walker.

At 6’6" and 324 pounds, the 26-year-old tackle is going to be one of the top tackles on the market. In 2025, Walker’s 93.8% pass block win rate ranked 11th among all qualifying OTs. For new coach Todd Monken, Walker would be the perfect left side anchor to jolt the rebuild.

Securing Walker requires a projected $20.28-million annual salary, likely the Browns biggest swing this offseason. With Deshaun Watson’s dead cap money still looming, Berry can't spend wildly, but Walker is the one player worth the check.

Grab Walker to anchor the edge, sign Rhyan to stabilize the interior, and use the draft to fill the gaps.
