Fresh off a Super Bowl LX victory, the Seattle Seahawks have jumped right back into go-mode to begin the offseason.
The Seahawks have made a few personnel adjustments, and now a star player is on the mend to repair a significant injury sustained during his team's playoff run.
Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL during his team's divisional round win over the San Francisco 49ers. On Saturday, he took to Instagram to report he was set to undergo surgery to restructure his ailment.
"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his external glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you," posted the Seahawks' running back, quoting a Bible verse which was accompanied by a photo of him in a medical bed, wearing a surgical gown.
The timeline for Charbonnet's return is unclear at this time, but it appears unlikely that he will be ready for his team's Week 1 contest. Charbonnet rushed for 730 yards rushing and scored a team-high 12 touchdowns rushing during the 2025 season, averaging four yards per carry.
The three-year pro served as a the secondary ball carrier behind Seattle's Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III, who is set to hit free agency when the new league year begins on Mar. 11. If Walker elects to search for another team this offseason, that would leave Charbonnet, who remains under contract through the 2026 season, in line to potentially earn a starting role for the Seahawks next season.
Seattle recently hired a new offensive coordinator, Brian Fleury, after former OC Klint Kubiak departed the organization to take the Las Vegas Raiders' head-coaching job. It will be interesting to see how things shake out, but as it stands today, the Seahawks will have somewhat of a running back conundrum to deal with over the next few weeks and months.
