Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool planning“internal review of everything”

Liverpool’s current campaign has been defined by inconsistency.

The contrast with last season is clear in both results and numbers.

Just about a year ago, the Reds lifted the Premier League title with 84 points.

They won 25 matches and conceded only 41 goals across the entire season.

This year tells a different story.

After 26 games, Liverpool sit sixth in the table with 42 points.

They have won 12 matches, drawn six, and lost eight. Their goal difference stands at just +6.

The defensive drop-off has been the biggest issue.

Liverpool have already conceded 35 goals, which is close to last season’s full-year total.

The win rate has also fallen sharply.

It now sits at 46.2 percent compared to 65.8 percent during the title campaign.

Attack has also slowed down.

The team is averaging 1.58 goals per game this season.

Last year that number was 2.26.

Hugo Ekitike leads the scoring charts with 10 league goals, while Mohamed Salah remains the top creator.

Despite these struggles, Liverpool are still alive in the Champions League and domestic cups.

That keeps pressure balanced with hope.

But the overall feeling around the club is tense.

Expectations were high after massive summer spending, and the current position has left many supporters uneasy.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool’s owners are preparing to assess everything at the end of the season.

The Italian journalist explained that patience remains for now.

“I keep repeating to you the same.”

“So far remains the support of Liverpool for Arne Slot.”

“They’ve always been supporting the manager in recent months, even in complicated moments.”

“So that remains the situation.”

He made it clear no immediate decision is coming.

“Nothing is about to happen on the future of Arne Slot.”

“Then, from now to the end of the season, let’s see how Liverpool end the season, how their Champions League campaign will be.”

Romano also stressed that performance in the coming months will shape the future.

“So there are still several factors to indicate the future of Arne Slot.”

“So from now to the end of the season, maximum support coming from Liverpool to Arne Slot.”

But a major review is planned once the season ends.

“Then in the summer, there will be, before the summer transfer window, an internal review of everything.”

“Of course, the Champions League campaign and how Liverpool will finish the season could be important to understand the future of Arne Slot.”

From a supporter’s view, that feels fair.

The squad is talented and expensive.

The next few months will decide whether this is just a transition year or the start of a bigger reset.
