The Athletic projected head coach Mike Macdonald and the Seattle Seahawks to select Clemson CB Avieon Terrell at No. 32 overall.

Head coach Mike Macdonald and the Seattle Seahawks only have four selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. That is, unless the team trades back to acquire more picks.

In a company wide mock draft, which included trades, released this week, The Athletic’s David DeChant explored that possibility. But after failing to execute a trade, DeChant targeted the best prospect left on the board.

Coincidentally, the selection also addressed Seattle’s secondary.

DeChant predicted the Seahawks to select Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell with its first-rounder at No. 32 overall.

“Seattle has only four 2026 picks, so I tried to trade back from No. 32 but didn’t get any nibbles. Comfortably the best remaining player on Brugler’s board (No. 18), Terrell lacks the size of his brother (Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell), but GM John Schneider drafted an undersized corner early in 2023, and it’s fair to say Devon Witherspoon has worked out,” DeChant wrote. “Riq Woolen and Josh Jobe are pending free agents (as is safety Coby Bryant). The Seahawks could re-sign one to start opposite Witherspoon (with Nick Emmanwori in the slot), but having another corner in the rotation would maximize coach Mike Macdonald’s options.

“It’s hard to find athletic cornerbacks with instincts and playmaking ability like Terrell’s beyond the early rounds.”

Terrell posted 48 combined tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss with the Tigers last season. He also had nine pass defenses, three sacks and five forced fumbles.

In 39 college games, Terrell registered 25 pass defenses, eight forced fumbles and three interceptions.
