The Dallas Cowboys signed Javonte Williams to a one-year, $3 million contract last offseason, hoping to return to his 2021 form after a knee injury in 2022 hindered his final two seasons with the Denver Broncos. He enjoyed a breakout campaign, setting career highs in rushing yards, yards per carry, and rushing touchdowns. Williams totaled 1,2011 yards while averaging 4.8 yards per attempt and 11 scores on the ground, plus 35 receptions for 137 yards and two scores through the air across 16 games. Despite the career year, he was snubbed from the Pro Bowl.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys have agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Javonte Williams. The deal is for three years and is worth $24 million with $16 million guaranteed. Ultimately, the front office and Williams reached an agreement two and a half weeks before the start of the tampering window, which would have allowed the playmaker to negotiate with other teams.
