Alperen Şengün chipped in with 13 points and three steals, and reserve Reed Sheppard also scored 13 points.
The Knicks lost to the East-leading Detroit Pistons for the third time this season, falling to the shorthanded Motor City squad on Thursday night at home, 126-111. Jalen Brunson went for 33 points and eight assists, with Karl-Anthony Towns contributing 21 points and 11 rebounds, but New York shot only 22.9% from 3-point range in the loss.
Saturday's game is the first of two matchups between the Rockets and Knicks this season. Durant averages 25.8 points for Houston while Şengün puts up 20.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. Brunson's averages of 27.0 points and 6.1 assists lead New York, with Towns posting 19.8 points and 11.9 boards per game.
