Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum told the media on Saturday that he's been in communication with Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard during his rehab process.
Lillard tore his Achilles in April 2025, mere weeks before Tatum did the same.
"The convos have been great," Tatum said, per The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn. "Obviously we had a relationship before we both got injured. But I was super happy to see him (win the 3-point contest) knowing what he's been through first hand. I know it felt good to put a uniform on and feel normal. I'm certain it felt good to be out there again, obviously competing and winning."
Lillard rejoined the Portland Trail Blazers after his time in Milwaukee and his release by the Bucks. The veteran point guard has missed the full 2025-26 season but delivered a standout performance in securing the 2026 3-Point Contest crown, as alluded to by JT.
Tatum has begun practicing yet stays non-committal on a potential return this season, with the Celtics holding a 36-19 record in his absence.
