Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore has died at the age of 25, according to the Florida County Coroner.

The coroner confirmed that an autopsy has been scheduled, but the cause of death is under investigation. Moore was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, but the last two years of his NFL career were impacted by injury.

Moore represented Purdue in college and was named both Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Big Ten Receiver of the Year. He committed to the Boilermakers after being named the 2017 Gatorade Kentucky Player of the Year, and he also won the Paul Hornung Award.

Jeff Brohm was Moore's coach at Purdue, and he released a statement after the tragic death was confirmed. "Rondale Moore was a complete joy to coach," he wrote.

"The ultimate competitor that would never back down to any challenge. Rondale has a work ethic that was unmatched by anyone. A great teammate that would come through in any situation.

"We all loved Rondale and we loved his smile and competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with. We offer all of our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family and we love him very much!!!"
