Chelsea eyeing Brighton goalkeeper

Chelsea could make a move for Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen in the summer.

The South Coast club has been a regular source of players for Chelsea in recent years, with Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, João Pedro, and the current number one Robert Sánchez all joining from them.

However, with Chelsea not happy with their current goalkeeping options, they believe that Verbruggen is a potential upgrade on Sánchez.

The Netherlands international is valued for the fact that he is controlled in possession and is a good shot stopper. And, at 23 years old, he is still young for somebody who plays in his position, and he should get better as he matures.

Signed from Belgian side Anderlecht in 2023, Verbruggen has made 83 appearances in all competitions for Brighton, and is under contract with them until 2028. That means that he could command a sizeable fee if they decide to part ways with him.
