£200K-a-week striker wanted Chelsea will do summer deal for £70 million

Fichajes reports that Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in signing striker Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea, with the Blues said to be open to a summer transfer if a bid in the region of £70 million arrives.

Fichajes claims that Tottenham are monitoring the situation closely as they continue assessing striker options for Ange Postecoglou’s system. Spurs have lacked a natural No. 9 since the departure of Harry Kane, relying instead on a rotated attacking line led by Dominik Solanke and Richarlison. Jackson’s mobility, pressing output and pace in behind are believed to appeal stylistically to Postecoglou.

CHELSEAa’s willingness to entertain a deal stems partly from their own summer planning, with the club expected to pursue attacking reinforcements. A sizeable fee for Jackson would allow the Blues to reallocate funds toward more experienced or clinical forwards while easing pressure around compliance with future PSR windows.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are expected to explore several forward targets across Europe. Jackson is being viewed as one of multiple options rather than a primary or exclusive priority.

Could the Transfer Realistically Happen?

Chelsea selling directly to a major Premier League rival—particularly one competing for European places—is never straightforward. The £70m valuation may reflect both Jackson’s potential and Chelsea’s reluctance to strengthen a domestic competitor without a premium fee.

Secondly, it is unclear whether Tottenham would commit such a substantial outlay on a striker who is still developing and has yet to consistently prove himself at Premier League level. Spurs have alternative targets with more established goal-scoring records, which may be prioritised.

Thirdly, CHELSEA must consider squad balance. If they fail to secure another top-level No. 9 early in the summer window, they may prefer to retain Jackson as a rotation or developmental piece rather than risk weakening their forward depth.

That said, Chelsea’s need to generate sales, Tottenham’s search for a dynamic striker, and Jackson’s style do give the rumour some credibility. For now, the possibility exists—but the deal is far from certain and would likely hinge on Chelsea securing reinforcements first and Spurs agreeing a fee closer to the reported valuation.
