'Exactly the same': Joao Pedro hits out at Chelsea teammates after Burnley failure

Chelsea wasted Joao Pedro’s early goal in their Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday.

Pedro scored less than five minutes into the match, giving Chelsea something to build on very early on.

However, Liam Rosenior’s side could not take advantage of their brilliant start to the match and went on to pay the price when Zian Flemming equalised in the 93rd minute.

Pedro Neto gets too much hate 👎

Pedro has been speaking following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Burnley and has been very critical of the team.

Joao Pedro slams Chelsea for surrendering another lead

This is not the first time that Chelsea have dropped points from a winning position. In their previous Premier League game against Leeds United, they threw away a 2-0 lead.

A frustrated Pedro has now made it clear to his teammates that the capitulating has to stop.

In a post-match interview, which has been shared by Chelsea’s official club website, the forward said: “We are very frustrated with the result, and especially because we did exactly the same in the last [Premier League] game [against Leeds].

“We did enough to win the game, but we couldn’t find the second goal that we needed. We need to find solutions in these types of games, because we need to earn points in the Premier League.”

Rosenior has a lot to be disappointed about, with Wesley Fofana also being shown a red card on Saturday.

It was Chelsea’s fifth dismissal of the season and means Fofana will now miss next Sunday’s London derby against Arsenal.

Pedro and Pedro Neto were a couple of positives at least, putting in bright displays at Stamford Bridge.

How many points have Chelsea dropped from a winning position this season?

Surrendering leads has become a common theme at Chelsea this term, so Flemming’s equaliser would not have surprised the Stamford Bridge faithful.

In fact, they have watched Chelsea drop 17 points at home from a winning position in the Premier League during the current campaign.

Dropping a total of 21 points, Southampton have the record, which Chelsea could easily break between now and the end of the season.

How are we calling Arsenal bottlers? 🤦‍♂️

What does Liam Rosenior need to do to change this?

A repeat will not happen next weekend, as the Blues take on Arsenal at the Emirates. After that, they have another away game versus Aston Villa.

Considering their results against Burnley and Leeds, maybe Chelsea will fancy some time away from the Bridge.
