Liverpool and West Ham United will most likely head into their gameweek 28 meeting with very different pressures.
The Reds are currently fighting to climb back into the Champions League spots.
West Ham, meanwhile, are battling to avoid relegation.
The gap between both sides shows in the numbers.
Liverpool still carry strong attacking output.
Hugo Ekitike leads the line with 10 league goals and 15 in all competitions.
Mohamed Salah remains their main creator with six assists.
Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai are also contributing in attack.
At the back, Virgil van Dijk continues to anchor the defence.
He has an 89 percent passing accuracy and two goals from set pieces.
However, Liverpool have not looked fully stable.
They are conceding 1.35 goals per game this season.
That is higher than the 1.08 they allowed during their title-winning campaign last year.
West Ham’s situation is more worrying.
They sit 18th and are two points from safety.
They have kept only two clean sheets all season, the lowest in the league.
Jarrod Bowen leads their scoring with eight goals.
El Hadji Malick Diouf has four assists from full-back.
Tomáš Soucek recently scored against Manchester United and has three goals this season.
The contrast is clear. One side is chasing Europe. The other is fighting to survive.
From a Liverpool supporter’s point of view, there is another angle to watch ahead of the clash.
West Ham goalkeeper Łukasz Fabianski is closing in on a return.
The veteran has been out after a serious back injury.
He explained what happened during training.
“It was difficult to predict exactly how long the recovery would take,” he said to Polish oulet, WP SportoweFakty.
“This was the first time I’d had an injury like this. It happened in training. Not even after a intervention, a jump, a fall, or a run.”
“I made a turn, a dynamic change of direction, and one of my discs popped, which started pressing on a nerve in my leg, quite severely.”
“I had to wait for my quadriceps to respond appropriately.
“After undergoing a series of tests, including an MRI, I saw that my spine was indeed showing the wear and tear of all those seasons.”
“But I don’t regret it.”
He is now back working toward full fitness.
“For now, I’m training at 80-90%. ”
“I still need to strengthen my quadriceps on my right leg.”
“I’ve returned to training with the other goalkeepers, almost at full strength, and I’m slowly rejoining the whole team.”
“There are still areas where I feel like I’m lagging behind, especially in the weight room.”
Fabianski is still determined to play again this season.
“I want to be in the best possible condition, and who knows what will happen.”
“I hope my health will allow me to return to the level I want.”
“Of course, my role has changed in recent years.
“Nothing lasts forever, but I maintain the same approach to my profession.”
“I want to maintain a high standard and set an example for others.”
“I don’t approach training and daily life with the mindset that just because they’re younger and a different goalkeeper is in charge, I’ll somehow relax or take things easier.”
For Liverpool, his potential return adds another layer to an already high-stakes meeting at Anfield.
