Seahawks now know how much Kenneth Walker will cost in free agency

The Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement with running back Javonte Williams on Saturday that gives the Seattle Seahawks a good idea of how much Kenneth Walker will command in free agency.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys and Williams agreed to a three-year, $24 million deal, which of course works out to $8 million annually. Williams is also pulling in $16 million guaranteed.

Williams' deal is a good measuring stick for Walker's, as the latter posted just 29 scrimmage yards less than the former in 2025.

But Williams also offers a bit more than Walker. The Cowboys rusher is a superior pass-blocker and pass-catcher, and he has proven to be more durable outside of a 2022 season in which he suffered a torn ACL.

Walker's stock gets a boost thanks to his playoff heroics, lengthier track record of production and his explosiveness that makes him a threat from anywhere on the football field.

Ultimately, we could see Walker coming in right around what Williams is getting, but his ceiling will probably be what Spotrac has projected for him, which is a four-year deal worth $36 million, which would amount to $9 million per year.

If a bidding war ensues, maybe Walker reaches $10 million annually, but we're hesitant to believe teams will go that high.

The Seahawks are well-positioned to afford whatever Walker commands thanks to their $61.8 million in cap space, but we don't think Seattle will hand him a blank check and will draw their line in the sand if Walker's price gets too high.
