Former Purdue, NFL wide receiver Rondale Moore dies at age 25

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WNDU) - NFL wide receiver and former Purdue standout Rondale Moore died Saturday in southern Indiana. He was 25.

The Floyd County Coroner’s Office confirmed his death Saturday night, according to [our sister station WTHR](https://www.wthr.com/article/news/local/rondale-moore-dead-at-25-nfl-receiver/417-ce00893c-7823-4deb-9da7-1d6e63df2a48). An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

New Albany’s police chief said Moore was found in a garage with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Moore was born in New Albany and attended New Albany High School, where he won a state basketball championship in 2016. He later transferred to Trinity High School in Louisville, where he won a state football title in 2017.

Moore played three seasons at Purdue, recording 114 catches for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns as a freshman in 2018. He was named a first-team All-American that season.

The Arizona Cardinals selected Moore in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. After three seasons in Arizona, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons, where he was placed on season-ending injured reserve following a knee injury in training camp.

Moore was on the Minnesota Vikings roster for the 2025 season but was placed on injured reserve after suffering a season-ending knee injury during a preseason game.

For his NFL career, Moore caught 135 passes for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns.
