The NFL community is mourning yet another tragic loss as the league has recently lost another star. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore has unfortunately died at the young age of 25. He was found dead in his home, and authorities are suspecting that it was a suicide.

The NFL community has now banded together to mourn the loss of the star as a recently shared post from the player goes viral.

Rondale Moore posted on Instagram 3 days before death

Moore was found dead on February 21 due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and authorities did not find any signs of foul play. The incident occurred in the garage of a home in the 1600 block of Ekin Avenue in New Albany. An investigation is still ongoing, but it looks like a suicide.

The official NFL account released a statement that said, “The NFL is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Rondale Moore. Our thoughts are with Rondale’s family, friends and teammates during this difficult time.”

Moore’s career has been consistently hampered due to recurring injuries. Just three days before his death, Moore posted a photo on Instagram of himself sipping a drink next to a tote bag reading ‘WORK IN PROGRESS’. After his death, that post serves as a reminder of how many don’t seem to show mental issues before their deaths.

He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2021 and played three seasons there. He was later traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 where he suffered a season-ending right knee dislocation during training camp. In 2025, after signing with the Minnesota Vikings, he endured another devastating left knee injury in the preseason opener which again sidelined him for the entire season. These setbacks may have contributed to mental health challenges, and NFL players have now come together to mourn his death.
