Liam Rosenior was saying what fans were thinking after yesterday’s draw, and that’s some comfort to the supporters.
Chelsea dropped points yesterday for the second game in a row, and after full time a frustrated Liam Rosenior was asked what he made of the performance:
“I think it was a disappointing performance,” he admitted.
“Not just the end of the game. We started the game perfectly, we scored a really well worked goal. We were incisive and creative in that moment. And I wanted us to put our foot on the gas, but in fact, for some reason we took our foot off the gas.
“When the game was at 1-0, regardless of the dominance and control we had up until the red card, you have to put these games to bed. We didn’t, and we didn’t see the same out.”

Now fans will eventually want to see these problems fixed, of course. But the way that Rosenior is able to put the issues so clearly, and show supporters that he’s frustrated by the exact same things that they are, is great PR, and makes everyone feel much more confident we’re going in the right direction even when there’s a disappointing result like last night.
He’s not trying to gaslight anyone about what was a very disappointing performance and result.
In other news…
Pedro Neto got an assist yesterday, but Chelsea’s attack in general disappointed as they failed to capitalise more on their periods of dominance.
Liam Rosenior has pointed to a problem he’s already seen recurring in his time at Chelsea so far.
