But his form has been good enough to see him rewarded with a new contract at the Emirates Stadium that sees him tied down to the club until 2031.
Speaking after that news was confirmed, Arsenal boss Arteta said: "I think they are all very important.
"We are very happy that the players are feeling in such a strong way about the club and what we are doing and the way they feel treated and the fact that they can continue to improve and win what we want to win together.
"Bukayo’s news, obviously, is great, he’s one of our own, we got him here since he was very, very little. For him to make that decision and the club to be so aligned with him, I think it’s a really positive thing."
His latest issue was a bitter end to what was a near-perfect day for the Gunners at the Hotspur Stadium. Eberechi Eze had given Arsenal the lead during the first-half, with Randal Kolo Muani levelling matters.
Viktor Gyokeres restored Arsenal's lead after the break and then got another in stoppage time following a second striker for Eze.
The win lifts Arsenal five points clear of rivals in the race for the crown. The Gunners are back in action next Sunday as they take on at the Emirates.
