Although Luka Doncic fell to the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Finals when he was with the Dallas Mavericks, Luka has had plenty of success against Boston otherwise in his career to date.
Entering Sunday night's Celtics matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka owns the second-highest scoring average against Boston all-time, behind only Michael Jordan.

Doncic has forged a standout NBA career since the Atlanta Hawks selected him third overall in the 2018 draft, with rights soon traded to Dallas. After winning EuroLeague MVP and champion with Real Madrid, the Slovenian arrived as an instant force, claiming 2019 Rookie of the Year.
He has earned six All-Star selections, five All-NBA First Team nods, and the 2023-24 scoring crown. Across 493 games, Doncic owns career marks of 29.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game while posting 87 triple-doubles.
Now in his first full season with the Lakers after joining in 2025 and signing a three-year extension, the 26-year-old leads the NBA in scoring at 33.0 points per game through 43 games played. He adds 7.8 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game while shooting 47.3 percent from the field.
Despite a mild hamstring strain that sidelined him for four games before the break, Doncic started the 2026 All-Star Game and delivered 38 points plus 11 assists in a February 20 victory over the Clippers.
