According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, rival executives have already begun wondering whether Leonard's stint in LA will end in a trade this offseason.
"I think that trade (Ivica Zubac trade) might have been the most consequential deal of the deadline. It all but ended a Clippers era when combined with the James Harden-to-Cleveland trade before it and has plenty of rival executives -- as we await the findings of the league's investigation into allegations of salary cap circumvention by the Clippers in the Aspiration case -- wondering if Kawhi Leonard's time there could come to an end this summer via yet another trade," Fischer reports.
Kawhi is in his sixth season with the Los Angeles Clippers, although the season has been filled with off-court drama, with him being in the middle of the Clippers' Aspiration deal investigation.
Despite the off-court drama, Kawhi appeared in 43 games this season, averaging 27.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
