**Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed that Florian Wirtz should be available for the Reds’ next match against West Ham.**
The German international was forced to miss the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest after pulling up before the match at the City Ground, but speaking after the game, Slot said it was merely a precaution:
“We don’t think it is very serious, but he felt his back too much during the warm-up to start. He wasn’t able to be 100% or even close to 100%.”
“I think after being in this league for six, seven or eight months, he now understands no matter how good you are on the ball, you need to be 100% at this level.”
“So, we decided not to play him. We hope and expect he will be able to be with us again next week, but you never know how things work out.”
Liverpool have a busy month ahead of them
-----------------------------------------
The Reds have seven games between now and the next international break, which Wirtz will hope to feature in. After taking on West Ham, they have a midweek fixture against Wolves before facing the same opponents in the FA Cup.
Slot’s men also have both legs of the Champions League round of 16 tie, as well as matches versus Tottenham and Brighton.
