Philadelphia Eagles are quietly being linked to a realistic trade target that could address their biggest offensive need heading into 2026: more reliable weapons for Jalen Hurts.
The Green Bay Packers would be on the other end of that game changing trade.

Eagles Trade Proposal: Philadelphia Could Acquire Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks for 2026 Fourth-Round Pick
In Bleacher Report’s latest piece outlining one trade each NFL team should make this offseason the Eagles are proposed to acquire Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick (projected No. 122 overall).
Why This Trade Makes Sense for the Eagles
Philadelphia’s passing game stalled in critical moments during the 2025 season, even with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on the roster. Whether Brown stays long-term or is moved amid trade rumors, the Eagles need more dependable depth and a true deep threat to complement their top targets.
Enter Dontayvion Wicks:
Former fifth-round pick (2023) out of Virginia
Showed explosive potential as a rookie: 39 receptions, 581 yards (14.9 avg), 4 TDs
Role diminished in 2024–2025 behind Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs
Still only 24 years old with elite speed and contested-catch ability

The report notes:
“The Eagles don’t have a ton of cap space so they might have to get a little creative to swing a trade that improves them. That being said, Howie Roseman is not a general manager known for sitting on his hands. … With Sean Mannion coming in as the offensive coordinator, it would make a lot sense for Philadelphia to target a receiver familiar with the coach.”
Wicks played under Mannion at Virginia Tech (Mannion was VT’s OC during Wicks’ college years), giving him a pre-existing connection to the new play-caller. That familiarity could accelerate his fit in Philly’s offense.
Realistic Trade Fit for the Eagles
Cost: A fourth-round pick is reasonable for a young WR with upside who hasn’t yet hit his ceiling.
Cap Impact: Wicks’ rookie deal is cheap ($3.7M cap hit in 2026).
Scheme Fit: Mannion’s familiarity + Hurts’ arm strength could unlock Wicks as a vertical threat and red-zone option.
No talks have been reported, and this remains a speculative proposal from Bleacher Report. But with Howie Roseman’s history of aggressive moves and the Eagles’ clear need for passing-game help, a Dontayvion Wicks trade is exactly the kind of low-risk, high-upside deal Philadelphia should pursue.
Eagles fans: Would you pull the trigger on Wicks for a fourth-rounder? Or do you want the team to go bigger at WR this offseason? Share your thoughts below—this could be a sneaky-smart move for Philly!
