Ex-Bucks Khris Middleton shows vintage Milwaukee form with huge performance against Pacers

Former Milwaukee Bucks star small forward Khris Middleton said hello to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday — and gave them a reminder of what he used to do to them during his days in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference.

Now playing for the Dallas Mavericks, Middleton torched the Pacers for 25 points on 11/15 shooting from the field and 3/5 from behind the arc to go with seven assists, seven rebounds and a steal in 30 minutes of action on the floor to lead the Mavs to a 134-130 road victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Thanks in large part to the showing of the 34-year-old Middleton, the Mavericks were able to snap a 10-game losing skid, and they did so without the help of Cooper Flagg. The Dallas star rookie missed his third game in a row because of a sprained left foot.

Middleton was traded to the Mavericks by the Washington Wizards before the deadline in a transaction that also included the Charlotte Hornets.

The former Texas A&M Aggies star does not have a contract beyond the 2025-26 NBA season, so he’s got a reason to keep it going in order to further raise his stock for the summer’s free agency.

Perhaps there will be a reunion between Middleton and the Bucks down the road, but for now, he’s focused on helping Dallas.

In 11-plus seasons with the Bucks, the two-time NBA All-Star Middleton averaged 17.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 46.1 percent from the field through 7335 games.
