Ibrahima Konate‘s resurgence continued in Liverpool’s 1-0 win away to Nottingham Forest, but both wingers were painful to watch.
The Reds secured a dramatic and priceless victory on Sunday afternoon, thanks to Alexis Mac Allister‘s late, late finish.
Here we compare our player ratings with those of the Liverpool Echo, GOAL and the TIA readers.
Konate (7.33) may have been poor earlier in the season, but he was again a standout performer for Liverpool, as has been the case for weeks now.
The Frenchman stood tall while the majority of his teammates floundered at the City Ground, with the Echo‘s Ian Doyle saying he produced a “superb show of defending.”
Meanwhile, GOAL’s Harry Sherlock rightly felt Konate was Liverpool’s most authoritative defender on the day, even ahead of third-best player Virgil van Dijk (6.30).

Mac Allister (6.38) was in second place, no doubt helped greatly by his goal.
But This Is Anfield‘s Henry Jackson didn’t overly praise him simply because of his big moment, comparing him to “watching Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in 2022/23.”
It was a grim outing for Mohamed Salah (3.7) and Cody Gakpo (3.7), who combined for one chance created and one shot (none on target).
What the stats say
According to FotMob, Mac Allister was Liverpool’s best player statistically, getting an 8.3 rating.
Not only was he the Reds’ match-winner, but he also won six of his 10 ground duels and three tackles – the joint-most for his side.
Ryan Gravenberch was far from his best, but he still made 12 defensive contributions – the most for Liverpool alongside Mac Allister.
Curtis Jones struggled in both midfield and at right-back, winning only three of his 10 ground duels and failing to win an aerial battle (0/2).
