Ibrahima Konate caught the eye for one of the most enthusiastic celebrations in Liverpool’s win at Nottingham Forest, not once but twice!
It is not often you see a 6’4″ defender decide to do a cartwheel after watching his teammate score a late winner, but not every centre-back is Konate.
While this Alexis Mac Allister goal did not stand, the enthusiasm with which the Frenchman celebrated was not missed by eagle-eyed supporters.
He had moved in the opposite direction of the goalscorer’s celebrations and executed his handstand with little hesitation, as though there was no other reasonable way to celebrate:
Give Konate his contract already

The goal may not have counted, but Ibrahima Konate's celebration is one to remember ? pic.twitter.com/B1n8Snl2Id

If that was not enough, he then landed in the safe embrace of Dominik Szoboszlai as the away end relished in the relief of a goal that felt like it was never going to arrive.
Unfortunately, the goal did not stand after VAR adjudged the ball to have struck Mac Allister on the arm, but Liverpool and the travelling fans all got a chance to celebrate again moments later.
And you guessed it, Konate was front and centre, launching himself on the advertising hoardings to get closer to the away end, even using Hugo Ekitike as an anchor before wrapping Mac Allister in his arms:

And then there was even a song for Mac Allister after the final whistle. Was there a happier man on that pitch?

After a season of inconsistent performances and continual questions and doubts over his future as contract talks remain at an impasse, it was a timely reminder that Konate deeply cares.
He has turned a corner of late and, again, was Liverpool’s standout player at the City Ground, with the joint-most defensive contributions (12) and most duels won of any Red (six).
Liverpool fans felt Trent Alexander-Arnold was sending a message at Leicester last season, but we all hope a different ending befalls Konate before the end of the campaign.
