Mac Allister ensured Liverpool claimed three points against challenging opposition

Alexis Mac Allister sealed the win for Liverpool after a difficult match against fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest yesterday afternoon, Sunday February 22. The midfielder produced a 97th-minute goal to give the Reds a 1-0 win at the City Ground.
The decisive goal came after Mac Allister had earlier seen an effort ruled out via VAR for a handball in the 89th minute. His partner wasn't at the City Ground to watch the winning goal, but was cheering on the Reds from the comfort of her home. She shared a heartwarming video to Instagram after the full time whistle.
A picture of Mac Allister was posted alongside a video of Ailen Cova cheering the win. She waved her arms as she celebrated with their daughter, before kissing her daughter on the cheek. She wrote: "Gol de papi y 5 meses de alaia estamos de festajo", which roughly translates to: "Daddy's goal and Alaia is 5 months old, we're celebrating!"
Ailen often shared updates from her personal life with the Argentina international. She announced her pregnancy in March 2025 with a video of a positive pregnancy test as she hugged Mac Allister. The couple, who have been together since 2022, welcomed their baby girl Alaia on Sunday September 22 2025.
In a heartfelt joint statement translated from Spanish, it said: "Alaia – 22/09/2025. After 18 hours of suffering came the most beautiful and special moment of our lives."

Mac Allister shared a separate message for his partner, it said: "A paragraph just for you, my love. I'm proud of your strength and the love you showed to overcome this and give us the greatest gift in the world. I love you."
World Cup winner Mac Allister arrived at Liverpool FC in the summer of 2023 from Brighton and Hove Albion. The midfielder claimed the No. 10 shirt upon his arrival to Anfield, taking the squad number last taken by Sadio Mane after signing a long-term deal.
Last month, Ailen was in attendance to watch as Liverpool played League One side Barnsley in the FA Cup third round. The tie ended 4-1, with goals coming from Szoboszlai, Frimpong, Wirtz and Ekitike. The Reds progressed to the fourth round, coming up against Brighton.
Ailen watched as Mac Allister assisted an impressive goal taken by Szoboszlai more than 25 yards out. After the game, she took to Instagram to share an adorable snap from Anfield. A picture of their baby was shared with the pitch in the background.
She captioned the post "fan #1 de papi", which translates to "Daddy's number one fan" in Spanish. The couple recently enjoyed time on holiday together. Ailen posted pictures to social media of palm trees and the two outside of a cathedral. Another picture showed their daughter looking out at the sea.
