'He's not a world-class player': Jamie O'Hara drops honest verdict on Chelsea star

Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara has been discussing Alejandro Garnacho following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Burnley at the weekend.

Garnacho was an unused substitute as Chelsea went on to give up a 1-0 lead against Scott Parker’s side.

Instead of the ex-Manchester United star, Liam Rosenior went with Pedro Neto on the left.

Neto and Joao Pedro were two positives for Chelsea, but one supporter would have liked to see Garnacho get an opportunity.

Jamie O’Hara rejects claim that Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho is world-class

Speaking on talkSPORT, a Chelsea fan claimed that Alejandro Garnacho is a “world-class” player and should have been introduced to the game.

It was a notion that O’Hara quickly rebuked, with the former Tottenham Hotspur man in complete disagreement.

He said: “He’s not a world-class player. Garnacho is not world-class… you can’t sit here and say Garnacho is a world-class player. Man United got rid of him!”

Garnacho recently made his 100th appearance in the Premier League, with most of them coming at United.

After working with Garnacho at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag came to the conclusion that the winger has the potential to become a world-class player and said as much via beIN SPORTS. However, he is clearly not there yet.

Alejandro Garnacho isn’t world-class yet

Ten Hag was right to suggest that Garnacho has world-class potential. He is only 21 but is already an experienced Premier League winger who can cause the opposition problems.

It is early days, but Chelsea fans have already seen that Garnacho can make a huge impact in front of goal.

It was in vain in the end, but the Argentina international scored an impressive brace in the first leg of Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Do you agree?

However, Garnacho lacks consistency and he probably does not take on his man often enough for a wide man of his talent.

According to WhoScored, he is only completing 0.6 dribbles per game in the Premier League this season, which is a very low average for a winger.

Ultimately, it is hard to disagree with O’Hara here and not too many Chelsea fans will.
