There were many disappointing aspects of the Cleveland Browns 2025 season, one of which was the performance of wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, whose production fell off a cliff after a torrid finish to his previous campaign. Using Zay Flowers as an example, how could new head coach Todd Monken get Jeudy back to playing his best ball?

At first thought, Flowers and Jeudy seem like very different players. Jeudy is a Z receiver with inside-out versatility and known to have the ability to be an excellent route runner. Flowers is a dynamic yards-after-catch threat with explosive big-play ability. However, their athletic profiles are much more similar than you might remember.

Jeudy is bigger than Flowers, but the pair's speed and explosiveness numbers are very close. Flowers didn't participate in agility testing at the Combine, but it's easy to see how he compares to his peers by watching him cut on a dime and lose defenders in an instant. Jeudy had a historically bad shuttle time, but anyone who watched him at Alabama knew that was a fluke; his ability to stop and start was special, even if he didn't necessarily have blazing 4.3 speed.
