Elijah Sarratt 2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Measurables:

Height- 6’2″

Weight- 213 lbs

Background:

Sarratt attended St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Md., where he was a zero-star recruit. He started his college career at Saint Francis (PA) where he played in 12 games with four starts, helping Saint Francis win the Northeast Conference and reach the FCS playoffs. He then transferred to James Madison in 2023 and made 10 starts in 13 games played for the Dukes, helping the team win 11 games during the season. Sarratt led James Madison in both receptions and receiving yards, recording over 1,000 receiving yards.

He followed Coach Curt Cignetti to Indiana in 2024 and started all 13 games in his first season with the Hoosiers. Sarratt was a big reason for Indiana’s quick turnaround in 2024 as the team leader in all three major receiving categories, helping Indiana win double-digit games for the first time in program history and reach the College Football Playoff. He earned third-team All-Big Ten honors. In 2025, Sarratt led the entire country in receiving touchdowns and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors. He also helped Indiana to an undefeated season and the first National Championship in program history.

Strengths:

Sarratt has good size and play strength for the position. He has tremendous ball skills with a low drop rate in his college career and the ability to catch the ball away from his frame. Sarratt has good body control and ball tracking ability**,** and he was dominant on back-shoulder fades with quarterback Fernando Mendoza during the 2025 season. He is an incredible contested catch receiver who can box out defenders, and is strong at the catch point. Sarratt is a smart player, and he does a great job finding soft spots in zone coverage. He is an amazing red zone receiver, and had elite touchdown production in college with 31 total receiving touchdowns in his last three seasons, including a nation-leading 15 touchdowns in 2025. Sarratt is also a strong and willing blocker.

Weaknesses:

Sarratt does not have high-level athletic ability. Top-end speed is a concern, and he is not able to consistently create separation vertically downfield. Sarratt also has solid but not great explosiveness and change of direction ability. After the catch, Sarratt is a tough runner who has good power and contact balance, but he lacks the speed and elusiveness needed to be a great runner with the ball in his hands after the catch.

Potential Team Fits:

Cleveland Browns

Las Vegas Raiders

Pittsburgh Steelers

Tennessee Titans

NFL Projection:

Sarratt is a smart, experienced, and reliable wide receiver prospect. While he doesn’t have elite athleticism, separation skills, or big-play ability downfield, Sarratt is a physical receiver with the size and play strength needed to succeed in the NFL. He is a solid route runner, strong contested catch receiver, high-level red zone threat, and does a really good job getting open against zone coverage. Sarratt has the ability to be a contributor for an NFL offense as a rookie, and has the potential to develop into a quality starter at the next level.
