Chelsea could sell one of their key players to Aston Villa in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The Blues are hoping to secure Champions League football for next season, with manager Liam Rosenior trying to guide them to a top-five finish.
Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League table, despite the fact that they dropped points to a poor Burnley side on Saturday. Rosenior hopes their form will return when they face Arsenal next weekend.
Heading into the summer, Chelsea will be able to recruit better players if they do qualify for Champions League football, but they will also need to ensure they try to keep their best players, too.

Centre-back Trevoh Chalobah has proven a lot of people wrong this season. He has become a mainstay in Rosenior’s side, and has arguably been the Blues’ best centre-back.
However, according to Football Insider, Chelsea could sell Chalobah in the summer, as Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing the 26-year-old. It is understood that the Blues are willing to sell Chalobah, despite his impressive form this season.
Although, they will only sanction a sale, if they can find a worthy replacement for the English defender in the transfer market.
Rosenior is a big fan of Chalobah. He said earlier in February in an interview with Chelsea’s official website: “Trevoh Chalobah has been magnificent. Trevoh has been great and they can all find passes if the players are in the right positions to receive the ball.”
Chelsea eyeing up a Bayern Munich defender
In terms of potential replacements for Chalobah, there is one name who has emerged. Recent reports are linking the Blues to signing Bayern Munich centre-back Kim Min-Jae, who is reportedly set to be available for transfer in the summer.
The South Korean international has been at Bayern since 2023, and he has made over 100 appearances. He is exactly the sort of veteran presence that Chelsea could do with if they sell Chalobah.
